So it has been almost a year since I have posted anything to my blog. It has been the curse of Face Book. lol. Well, a school year is gone, and in just a short 2 months, I will officially be the mother of 2 teenaged girls. Wow. I don't know how my mother did it, but she did good. Hannah will be in the 8th grade, the big year at St Charles and Chey will be a sophmore at STA. Chey is going to Princeton for a month this summer for Speech and Political Communications, very proud of her. That is huge. It will be her first time away from home alone for that long. I am a little nervous, we are talking New Jersey/ New York. She will love it.

As for me, still in the Records unit at HQ. I am waiting to hear what my injury status on this foot will be. I have had a retiremnet evalluation, so, we will soon see. I guess live moves in different directions, rather or not you are ready for it. Well, gotta get going.

Back to school

Well, my little ladies are back in school. CheyAnne is now a freshman at St Teresa's Academy. She tried out and made the JV softball team, we are very proud of her. Hannah is in the 7th grade at St Charles. It was strange for me, and I think for her, since this is the first time she has gone to school alone. She and Chey have always been together. It is strange to see them going seperate ways this year, but good that they will for the first time experience something like that on their own. The next time will be college, yikes!!! Chey is also joining the Junior States of America. It is a debate and political group that is Nationally recognized, and we are told it looks good on the college apps. They have been asked to go to Ivy League schools over the summer for debates. Very cool stuff, it will help in her desire to be in Journalism and Politics. All I have to say is, thank you to my parents, who have done so much to help us with school. It is not an easy task when it comes to paying for this education. We have had to really budget this year, I don't know if we will be able to eat when Hannah is there too. LOL. I guess it will be a good diet. It is worth every penny.

Surgery

So, my summer has been somewhat uneventful in the sense that we have not gone on a single trip or done a thing. I did have surgery, for the second time, on my foot on July 8th. That has been great. Hopefully that sounded sarcastic, LOl. I was in a wheel chair, then crutches, now walking with this really sexy boot. I hope it works this time. I have a metal plate, some screws, and a small rod. If the plate becomes bothersome, I will have a 3rd surgery. Lets hope not.

Hawaiian Hit Fest

Hannah's team took 2nd place in the tournament. Great weekend. The girls have come along way. They looked so good. Hannah was awesome. She threw 2 girls out on second base. She has a gun for an arm. Lots of fun. We are proud. They were hard wins, we tied in two games to come back with the winning runs. It was intense. We won all the games we played this weekend ,except the championship game!!!!!

Cow Town Champs

Wow, this past weekend has been long, but fun. Hannah's softball team played a tournament over the weekend in Bashor, Kansas. It was called the Cow Town Showdown. Well, they took first place!!!! Very exciting weekend. 7 games in 3 days. Friday night, Hannah was hit in the arm with a bat. She is the catcher, so, it was a hard hit. We were in the ER unti. 2am Sat. morning. We thought for sure it was broke, as did the Doc and her Grandma Neilson. Low and behold, no break. Thank goodness. She played the rest of the weekend with a wrapped, swollen, arm. She is a trooper. We are so proud of her and her team.

Graduation is finally over!!!

Well, graduation is finally done. Chey graduated on May 20th. It was very nice. Her dress was very pretty and all the kids looked "older", if that is possible. It has been a very bitter sweet time for me. I want her to go on in the next stage of her life, but at the same time, it is hard to see her leave St Charles. She has been there since pre-school. Great school, great times. We also had her party on the 23rd at Mom and Dad's house. It was wonderful. The whole family was there. Mom and Dad rented a huge tent and tables and chairs. We had the shindig catered. It was an experience. It was very nice. She got many gifts and money. She was in heaven. So, only 2 more years and then it will be Hannah's turn. Yeah!! Hope to get some pictures on soon of everything.

Go Royals

We went to the Royals game yesterday with Sean and Nicole and all the kids. Terry and Mia came, and so did Uncle Tommy. We had a really good time. The kids got their Build A Bear Slugger stuffed dolls. It was a 1:00 game, and it was gorgeous outside. We sat on the Bud light Party deck, which was really cool. They have servers who bring you food and drinks, just like at a bar and grill. The bathrooms were right there, and you could go downstairs to another level where there is an indoor bar. Very cool. It was great, because you don't have to reserve these seats. We just bought the cheapest tickets they have and got there early enough to get front row seats. Awesome seats, great day with the family. Hope to have pics on soon.
